It’s a great way to make the meal even more delicious.

Honey Baked Ham

This imitation honey baked ham recipe has completely sucked me in! Even though it’s so straightforward, the outcomes are completely absurd. It makes sense why people would pay so much for these. We are rubbing it with dry sugar, roasting it, glazing it, then torching it in the kitchen. This ham’s crunchy edges are sweet like candy!

Introduction

I wasn’t really paying attention the other day when Hax was watching this documentary. It dealt with video games and how the first businesses got off the ground. As per customary, someone left college early and achieved success. I’m not sure why anybody wants to attend college these days. It seems like all the smart people are leaving early! Don’t worry, I’m only kidding.

Anyway, the Pac-Man creators were being interviewed, and when he mentioned pizza, my head snapped up. You’re surprised, right? He claimed that one day while eating a pizza, they came up with the Pac-Man shape. Pac-Man is a complete pizza with a few slices missing.

And guess what? The original version of Pac-Man was a kill-em-dead-style video game. Men adored it. But they want to attract female players. “So, we made an adjustment. eating as opposed to murdering.” Isn’t that hilarious? Although it is said that a woman can enter a man’s heart through his stomach, I believe that this significantly underestimates women’s insatiability.

In relation to consuming everything. In a few days, Thanksgiving will be here. Are you all prepared? I’m totally down for it! In case you are a last-minute planner like me, I have just a few more dishes I want to share with you this week. The finest friggin ham I’ve ever had comes first.

Make a Honey Baked Ham

Have you ever tried the renowned Honey Baked Ham? To be completely honest, I’ve never tried it. But there’s a reason it’s so well-known! Now that I’ve cooked it at home, I understand why. There is nothing like this ham that I have ever tasted. I’M FASCINATED.

To find out why people pay so much for honey baked hams, I undertook a ton of research. Do you wish to learn the truth? a kitchen flame and dry sugar. They season the ham with spices and dried sugar before torching it.

The edges of the salty ham are caramelized and dusted with cinnamon sugar. Similar to the crème brulée on top, the sugar melts before hardening into this lovely shell. These images don’t do it credit in the slightest.

I think Hax and I consumed the entire 8-pound ham’s edge bits in a single day after I prepared it. Okay, so maybe not all of it, but darn near. We just kept repeating, “Well, we best eat it now while the sugar is still crackly and shatters in your mouth,” since the crispy sugared edges are not nearly as fantastic after you chill it. No remorse. Let’s succeed!

What Kind of Ham should You Buy

Start with selecting a ham of the highest caliber. I adore using a bone-in ham since it has so much flavor compared to a boneless ham. It’s actually very difficult to locate a fresh ham in American stores that is uncured and unsmoked, so you can be confident that the majority of the hams you see are fully cooked.

Continue on your way if you notice a super inexpensive ham. If you check at the label, you’ll see that it likely had water added to it. Because you’re paying for water weight, it’s less expensive. These hams are of lower grade and are mushier. Hams marked “with natural juices” represent an improvement. But in all honesty, just get the cheapest ham you can find; people will be so preoccupied by your perfectly cracked, caramelized edges that they won’t even notice if the ham isn’t the ideal texture.

I enjoy purchasing spiral hams. They are already sliced, which makes serving a breeze. Additionally, you don’t have to mess with scoring the ham because they are already sliced. The honey combination we’re using just pours in nicely and deeply to the sliced edges.

Consider serving each individual 1/2 to 1 pound of ham. If you want leftovers, select 1 pound for every person. A half ham typically weighs 7 to 8 pounds and may feed 8 to 12 people.

How to Make a Honey Baked Ham

A cooked ham is typically covered in glaze before baking. But there is a further stage in this imitation honey baked ham.

Pour a quick homemade honey glaze over the ham. Bake until heated in a covered 325 degree oven. But after that, we go ahead and rub the whole thing in sugar before torching it to flawlessly crackly perfection!

First, take the shrink wrap and netting off of your lovely ham. They frequently contain a tiny ham glaze package sealed inside. Throw it in the garbage with vigor! Remove any small plastic caps that may occasionally be covering the bone.

On the roasting rack in your roasting pan, set your ham flat-side down. A metal cooling rack should be placed over a rimmed baking sheet if you don’t have a roasting pan. You don’t want the ham to become mushy from the liquids.
